Fix the pesky "overwrite existing savefile?" prompt so it doesn't appear all the time.

Description (Last modified by shanoah)

Any time you start a new character in svn(current revision [610]), it always asks you if you want to overwrite an existing character if a savefile does not exist with the initial savefile name it is passed. Changing the character name at that point does not make a difference.

Given that my initial ideas for changing this would basically reverse [565] which claims to fix this same issue, I thought I'd better open a ticket.

This was tested in x11, sdl, and gtk.
