can't activate objects

Description

trying to activate anything in 9/14 build onwards always fails with 'you have nothing you can activate'.

The obj_can_activate() routine is always returning false. I believe this is due to an overflow error as you attempt to return the value TR3_ACTIVATE as a char value.
